I accept constructive criticism · 2:20pm Jan 11th, 2018

Don't be afraid to tell me (in a polite manner, of course), if I've done something wrong in a story. I may grumble, but I won't be mad at you for giving it to me. Be honest, and offer suggestions on how to improve what I've written. I will always take it into account, and if I can use the change without it compromising the story itself, I will use it, either to correct that story or in my next story.

Thank you.

About 'The Edge' · 11:50am Jun 22nd, 2020

I'm looking for a bit of constructive feedback on one of my stories, The Edge. The tone was a lot darker and the story was generally more descriptive than I usually write.

I also wrote the first half on paper, so I had to type it out before I continued writing. I think that may have improved the quality of writing, did anyone notice that? Should I do it more often?

Constructive Criticism · 8:07am Jul 16th, 2015

As I continue to write my first story, 'Friendzone ain't magic', I've come to realize how much I dearly love writing. But it's always better when I get reviews! That's right fillies and gentlecolts, today I wish to talk about the joys of 'constructive criticism'.

When looking over the status of the story's standings, my thought process goes something very much like this:
"Please-not-another-dislike-please-not-another-dislike-please-not-another-dislike."

Regarding My Fanfic and Criticism · 1:24am Mar 27th, 2017

So this is my first blog post - about my first story that I am sharing. It's received a pleasant reception in its current form, which is actually really great to hear. I hadn't actually written anything since my English Language A-Level coursework a couple years ago, which was a short story. So it's strange to get back into the swing of things.

I need some help! · 12:39am Feb 22nd, 2017

For those of whom have been following me from the beginning, you may remember an old story by the name of Spacebound Equestria. Both back then and now, I use the story and its sequel as sort of a "guinea pig" set of stories, where I experiment on and improve my personal writing style.

Opinion, Objectiveness and Constructive Criticism · 9:04pm Apr 10th, 2016

There have been a few blog reactions and more than a few private fights that have found their way back to me for my blog on "The Law of Equivalent Exchange - Comments Version", which kinda promotes a defensive, non-ideal philosophy of—yes—Equivalent Exchange: You act like an asshole, you get treated as such. So here's a bit more in-depth look at what I was trying to angrily get at back then.

Requests in term of comments · 4:16pm 7 hours ago

I’m back and writing(for a few weeks)
Can anyone posting to my stories add constructive criticism please?

I need to know how to improve- if you don’t, my writing will get worse.

We must support each other in helping fellow writers improve.

I’ll be stopping writing from the 10th May-24th June due to exams. Hopefully that window will give me the opportunity to improve my creative writing skills.

I'd just like to say some words about this blog Scoots2 posted today.

I'm under the impression that a number of fans don't really like the show as it is.

I admit to being Guilty of this, but not entirely for the reasons here.

Oh, they do, but they want to make it more comfortable, with a lot fewer tea parties and a lot more beer.

"One Last Hearths Warming Chapter 3" Constructive Criticism · 2:34am Dec 15th, 2021

Continued from Part 2...

I don't know if Mykan is ignoring me now (which I can't complain about) or he just has nothing to say (which I also can't complain about). Either way, I figure that no news is good news.

"One Last Hearths Warming Chapter 1" Constructive Criticism · 12:21pm Nov 26th, 2021

Do I get on Mykan's case a lot? Does an Ursa poop in the Everfree? Actually, do Ursas even poop? And what would Ursa poop even look like? ...Sorry, I got a little distracted. The answer is supposed to be yes. Will this blog be any different? Well, that depends on how you wanna look at it.

"One Last Hearths Warming Chapter 2" Constructive Criticism · 2:21pm Dec 4th, 2021

Continued from Part 1...

As you may have noticed in the comments section of Part 1, Mykan is mostly petty. And I will not tolerate him spamming the comments section just to argue with me. However, I will not stop him from commenting entirely, just in case I do make a mistake. And I did make one in the last part. And that's why I say mostly petty.

Slightly Rewriting of Beethoven's Tenth · 1:57am Oct 1st, 2016

Okay, before anyone panic's, just hear me out on this.

As of today, the user Ryvaken, after some discussion, have given me some constructive criticism about the story. You see, he basically pointed out that there were a few plot holes that needed to be fixed, which are:

- There's a lack of emphasis of writing the Tenth symphony and Ludwig's obsession to get home is unrealistic.

Rewrite Complete · 4:10am Oct 6th, 2016

Dear Bronies and Pegasisters,

After about a week of going through the entire story, of correcting contradictions, adding new details, sentences and paragraphs while rewriting the other half of the previous chapter, I'm relieved to say that it is done. By tomorrow, I can finally begin to work on the next chapter, that is, unless if Ryvaken has any objections.

Your fellow writer and closeted Brony,

- CrackedInkWell.

New Story! · 12:06pm Jul 7th, 2015

Hi, I'm new around here. And that's where I stop. I'm not talking about myself in this post, but about my first story on here: Sombre. I love constructive criticism from others so I can better myself and my writing. I am not claiming to be an amazing writer, because I am far from it. I have a lot to learn. Which is why I have posted my story on here. It's a work in progress, and I am moving soon, and will be starting up my final year of schooling soon. So in the chaos, perhaps some ideas will

Leaving a dislike on a story. · 6:46pm Jun 8th, 2018

In all honesty, I believe that if you leave a dislike on a story, or at least my stories, you should tell me why you left a dislike. Right now, on my story GaLm and the Derp Crew: Erebus, I have 9 likes and 15 dislikes. I have no Idea what is wrong with this story to have it skewed this way. If you have the time to dislike something, at least leave some constructive criticism. I just don't get why people don't do this.

CCC: cleverpun's Critique Corner: Description/Title Reviews #3 · 9:42am Mar 31st, 2016

The description and title are some of the most important parts of a story. They provide readers with their first impression, convince them to read it, and characterize your story even after it is finished.

Today, we look at a set of stories, based solely on their descriptions, titles, and other relevant paratext.

Format Breakdown

Today’s story relies on not one, but two twists. Since the first twist is incredibly blunt, I have not bothered to spoiler-tag it.
